This active printing press is a bibliophile's dream." ~ Lonely PlanetRunning the Goat's bricks-and-mortar shop offers a small but thoughtfully curated collection of books. We have an excellent selection of Newfoundland and Labrador books and children's literature, as well as international fiction, Canadian fiction, non-fiction, nature writing, poetry, and much more. Of course, all of our own trade publications currently in print are available. The shop stocks letterpress-printed books, cards, and ephemera—many of these printed in house, original prints by Newfoundland-and-Labrador-based print makers, and some local craft. All of the books and cards, and many of the prints, in the shop can also purchased through this website.Highlights of the shop are our three vintage printing presses: an 1830s Cope & Sherwin iron handpress; an 1880s Golding Pearl treadle press; and a 1960s Vandercook SP15. We are happy to demonstrate how the presses operate and discuss works in progress.Running the Goat is a member of the Canadian Indepent Bookseller's Assocation and the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador.
