Nimbus Hiring Announcement: Angela Mombourquette as In-House Adult Non-Fiction Editor
On January 4, 2019
Nimbus Publishing is pleased to announce the hiring of Angela Mombourquette as in-house adult non-fiction editor. Angela joined Nimbus full-time in January 2019 and has quickly become an integral part of the team. Says Managing Editor Whitney Moran, “Angela is a real professional, has great instincts and insights, and has such a wealth of knowledge. We couldn’t be happier with the work she’s doing.”
Mombourquette is a writer and editor, and the author of 25 Years of 22 Minutes: An Unauthorized Oral History of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, published in 2018. She is the former editor of Atlantic Books Today and a former associate editor at Saltscapes.
Her writing has appeared in numerous publications, including The Walrus, the UC Observer, Halifax Magazine and the Chronicle Herald. In 2018, she won the Dave Greber Freelance Writers Magazine Award for Social Justice Writing; in 2012, she received the George Cadogan Memorial Outstanding Columnist Award from the Canadian Community Newspaper Awards.
She has a Master of Journalism from the University of King’s College and, until recently, worked as an instructor in the School of Journalism at King’s.
Says Mombourquette about her new job, “I’m thrilled to embark on this new chapter (pun intended) of my career at Nimbus. It’s exciting to be a part of the magical process of book publishing and to have a role in helping to shepherd fresh non-fiction writing into the world. I really feel like I’ve found my people among the talented (and only slightly nerdy) word-lovers here.”
