Early 1960s Truro, Nova Scotia, was a town divided: East/West, Protestant/Catholic, Black/White. Only the Lincolns brought everyone together. That happened at weekend dances, and not just in Truro. Over a span of ten years, young people wanting to experience the Lincolns packed dance halls across the Maritimes. They came to move their feet and absorb the band’s soulful energy. Kids adored the Lincolns’ trademark R&B. The band became the “kings of Friday night.” Through their pulsing performances, the Lincolns touched the lives of thousands of kids.

Through interviews, first-person stories, and dozens of photos, the 1960s Lincolns and their era come back to life. The book features a foreword by former Lincoln organist (and acclaimed playwright and novelist) John MacLachlan Gray and an afterword by the band’s iconic singer, the late Frank MacKay.
