Claude Darrach was born at Herring Cove, Nova Scotia. He is the son of a fishing schooner captain and believes the parental blood stream and local environment gave him no alternative but to a seafaring life and to grow up in an atmosphere of courage, skill, and truth which is not to be underestimated or forgotten. The reward is confidence and the essential basic to a grateful future.
