On Tuesday, April 23, Nimbus Publishing is launching an exciting new podcast for book lovers.
Book Me! with Costas Halavrezos will focus on entertaining and illuminating interviews with the Atlantic Canadians who create the books published by Nimbus Publishing and Vagrant Press.
“The podcast format allows us to really delve into the world of the authors, illustrators and photographers behind the books people love to read,” says Halavrezos. “I think listeners will enjoy spending time with these interesting, creative people.”
Supported through funding from Arts NS, the first season of Book Me! will include interviews with Carol Bruneau, Steve Vernon, Sarah Sawler, Quentin Casey, Lesley Crewe, Len Wagg, Jamie Simpson, Linda Moore, and Graham Steele.
Three episodes will be available on April 23 at www.bookmepodcast.ca, with additional episodes released weekly.
About the Host
Costas Halavrezos is best known as the former host (1987–2010) of CBC Radio’s Maritime Noon. Costas grew up in Saint John, New Brunswick, where his parents operated Nick’s Coffee Counter. Nick’s introduced him to people from all walks of life – an ideal training ground for public broadcasting, and for his six-year post-CBC stint selling spices at the Brewery Market in Halifax. That experience yielded his book Seasoned, a collection of essays and spice recipes published by Nimbus. Costas loves pickup basketball, playing bass with the BBQ Kings, cooking for family and friends, and tending his grapevines in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.
