Earth Sky + Water, LLC is a small publishing firm focused on the realistic depiction of nature and localized nature identification. Established in 1999 under the name Steven M. Lewers & Associates, we started modestly by publishing a single, proof-of-concept title, Shells & Beach Life of Sanibel & Captiva Islands in a multi-paneled, laminated, waterproof format called a FoldingGuide™. The company’s founder, Steven Lewers, became interested in the use of laminated guides for nature identification while working at Boston-based book publisher, Houghton Mifflin, where he served as Director of the Peterson Field Guide Series™.
