Thomas L. Hanna, 79, was born and raised in the village of Five Islands on Georgetown Island. He left home at 17 to join the U.S. Navy at the end of World War II, eventually making the navy his first career. He later worked at Bath Iron Works for 22 years, retiring in 1988. He lives in Bath, Maine, with his wife, Charmaine.
