The Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame is a not-for-profit organization that honours, promotes, and preserves Nova Scotia’s rich sport history. The Hall of Fame offers a free-admission museum located in downtown Halifax, a free province-wide education program, and a collection of over 7,500 artifacts accessible to the public online. Originally conceived as a passion project of former Halifax mayor John “Gee” Ahern in 1964, the Hall of Fame was incorporated in 1983 and has continued to grow as new inductees are enshrined each year through a public nomination process.
