Noelle Chason Hall is the daughter of a Newfoundlander and an American serviceman. Most of her summers growing up were spent in Woody Point, Bonne Bay, on the western shores of Newfoundland. She attended Memorial University in St. John’s, NF. Noelle’s first book, Emily and the Captain: A Woody Point Story is now a Canadian bestseller. She was honoured in March 2002, to be one of the authors to give a reading and talk at the Virginia Book Festival, which takes place in Charlottesville, VA. Noelle, a member of the Virginia State Reading in Education Assoc. and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, is an avid promoter of literary and spends as much time as possible touring in areas of Canada and the United States, visiting schools and raising funds for libraries. Noelle lives in Spotsylvania, VA, with her husband Gregory, but spends as much time as she can at her house in Woody Point, NF, which in her heart she calls “home.”
