Author, publisher and inventor Gervais (Garvie) Samson, a native of River Bourgeois, Cape Breton, attended St. F. X. University and T.U.N.S. He was the co-founder of SS Publications (Ltd.) in 1995 and wrote The River That Isn’t, an historical account of River Bourgeois, Sr. Annie’s birthplace.
