For the past seven years, Donna Love has watched a loon family hatch amd raise chicks on the lake outside her door. To help with loon conservation she serves as an officer for the Montana Loon Society and speaks statewide on behalf of Montana’s loons. Using her art education background, she developed a children’s loon program, “Loon Tunes and Water Ballons,” for use in grade schools. This program formed the basis of her book, Loons. She lives in Seeley Lake, Montana, where her husband, Tim, is the district ranger for the Seeley Lake Ranger District on the Lolo National Forest.
